It’s been a while since my last post. A lot has happened to me :nah, not that I get married or anything as wild as that: but I do get a new lens to play with. Namely, the Nikon 180mm f2.8. It’s an old lens, but it still packs a punch. I really enjoy using the old bugger… It may be slow and noisy(when using AF) but it looks like a “professional” lens.
I see s lot of review saying that they hate the flimsy focus ring, but personally, I like how thin the ring is. It force me to focus on the action and not on anything else. It’s easy(for me anyway-I see how people with big hand will dislike the design) to grab and to twist. It’s lightweight and as versatile as the 80-200. If you could find one.

Keep in mind that this is the first iteration of the 180 AF. There is at least 4 iteration released to date.

Enough ranting. Now, what to do on 2009? I will start a new venture, this time, it involve photography and pets. I’m planning on making it both a resource center and a gateway for people to see my work and contract me and all the hullaa baloo that involve in hiring an artist.

Let’s see when I could release the new design out…

The reply speech is being done pro-con when it shouldda been con-pro. This system is unforgiving to the con. And don’t get me started with the prelim round motions. I got hold of the list from one of the participant, and let me tell you this, most of the motions is part truism part biassed. Here’s an example:”sektor jasa keuangan memberikan kontribusi terbesar dalam pendapatan Nasional Indonesia”.

Oh I could go on and on. Should stop here for now.

Picture this: Right now, the first debate is underway, and the rest of the participant is waiting in the debate room / debaters hall.

No other debate is underway. Kinda moot, don’t you think?

Other point, the debate is conducted with PA system in place. What’s the point?

Will update it as soon the first debate is finish.

First of all, I’m back from Bandung since last week… and picture’s are up @ www.flickr.com/photos/randi

soo… I repacked my bag only to found out that I’m out of space for a mid-long focal length lens. my 70-210 is to big for the bag, and I don’t like the focal lenght profided by either the 35-70, 35-105 nor the 35-135 especially when all of those lens work in 3.x-4.5 aperture range. so I’m thinking of selling the 35-70+tamron 70-300 and get either an 85 or the 105 DC… which one do you think should I get?but then again, I already have a 55-200 VR … should upgrade the main ody to a D90 before doing anything else tho..

currently the nat geo small rucksack contains a D70, 35f2, 55f2.8, and an 18-55 VR.

Lots of camera come and go between the D70 release and this write up. But I felt that I still have to weigh in. This D70 has travel with me halfway round the world from Jogjakarta, Bandung, Denpasar, Anai valley, to Uji-Japan, to Marseille-France. It has gone under the waterfall and below mountain top. It rarely fail me. And even when it did, it didn’t fail completely. Like when it decided it didn’t like the waterfall in gunung bunder, the camera didn’t died right there and then, it only make ‘unnatural’ sound.

- this is it for now - will continue when I got back to a properr workstation.

As of today, I personally have 4 bags that are -semi- ready to go. a Wilderness, a Timberland messenger bag, a Nat Geo backpack, a custom camera bag, and a dedicated Airsoft gear bag. 3 out of 5 of those bag are always ready to be grabbed and thrown to my sorry back. currently, that previledge goes to the wilderness bag-laptop and uni things-, custom camera bag, and the airsoft kit bag.

Let’s go thru those bags…

The Airsoft Kit Bag contains:

the BDU of the week, be it a Multicam, Tiger Stripe, or just plain OD/Black

a choice of vest. either a CIRAS or an ALICE.

a Bag of 4000rds of BB to be used with the AR carbines with 10-30round AR magazine.

and a slew of protective gear - Googles, Pads, and Gloves.

The Timberland usually contain roughly the same thing as The Wilderness bag.

a 12″ pBook, notepads, pens, pencils, calculators, and rolls of assorted currency…

The Camera bag I usually interchange between a custom bag I get in 2006 and a Billingham that I got from my dad.

D70 with 55mm Micro on the mount with 18-55 and 55-200 on the sides… I like the versatility it offer. but I’m considering swapping the 55mm with either a 20mm or a 35mm for everyday shots…

beside the camera and it’s acompanying lens, I usually also pack 4 gig worth of memory card and an iPod.

Guess that’s it for now… gonna head home as the rain has stopped… -finally-
